UNDERSTUDY PERFORMANCE
SEPTEMBER 10th at 7:30pm
"Long form evening based on the idea of revolution, not specifically queer revolution. This evening will still contain and multitude of art forms." - We Are Collective

For this festival I will be performing with Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble in Unraveling Bill created by Ellyzabeth Adler. This physical theatre piece examines the echos of impact around veternan mental health and suicide.

In being part of restaging this piece, the context has only infinitely evolved. Originally devised in 2012 surrounding the Iraq and Afghanistan war, today it rings with evolved poignance. Our tenuous divisive state with honor, glory, and Americana faces dire consequences. The nefarious process of recruitments and cult tactics to the military feasts insatiably on our most vulnerable members of society. Leaving people unimaginably traumatized from both the horrors of war, and the shock of returning to civilian life with no resources for transition.

There's a reason we're staging this piece as part of works of revolution.

I am performing on August 30th, but I strongly recommend participating in this festival any way you can! Classes are held on August 28th, and short form works will be presented August 29th. Come support revolutionary art!
"Lucy is preparing for Penny to leave for college when she discovers information that casts doubt on whether now is the right time. Before she can address her concerns, an unexpected turn of events occurs—Penny goes missing. With loss, mental health struggles, and a whirlwind of changes, the family finds itself unraveling. The question arises: How can a typical suburban family cope with these challenges without losing their sanity?"
-Eclectic Full Contact Theatre

This script has been a refreshing return to rich dramatic work. As an artist I love working on new plays centering on human connection. This play has all of that and more. I'm especially loving the tempo of dialogue within the family. It hits a nerve reminding me precisely of how my own mother and I would fight when I was a teenager. Every character has such a visceral relationship to each other, which is an absolute treat to work as an actor. You simply can't beat good writing.

Queers and Fears
Yas, And! Comedy
Sketch Ensemble
"Queers and Fears is a wickedly funny sketch comedy revue where the monsters are gay, the closets have skeletons, and the only thing we have to fear is our own internalized homophobia. From cursed hookups to ghost stories about being ghosted, this spooky celebration of queer survival blends sharp satire with blood-stained glitter. Come laugh, scream, and sashay into the shadows—because in this show, pride is a scream."- Yas, And! Comedy

This October I'm thrilled to be making my sketch debut with Yas, And! Comedy for Queers and Fears! Rehearsals are a wonderful collaborative environment. Being pushed to expand my improv and comedy writing skills is something I'm really excited about. It's going to be a wickedly good show!

The One Hour Project, Project Bound Dance
Dancemaker
Short Stacks Film Festival
Earlier in July I got the chance to shoot my first ever dance on film project!! Through The One Hour Project teams of one dancer, one choreographer, and one videographer are paired to devise and shoot a dance on film project in only one hour.

I had so much fun in this project meeting new artists and creating under a time constraint. Now since filming wrapped as quickly as it began, my hands are off the project as the videographer takes over in editing. It's a bit nerve wracking, but also fun that it was such a fast export of creativity and information in the shoot.
My film, as well as a handful of other dancemakers projects will be debuted this October at the Short Stacks Film Festival. More information will be coming soon!
